The biggest mistake I have ever did in my marketing life is to not sticking to a marketing strategy for a long time. I was too impatience and expecting big results in few days.
I was very good in creating wonderful marketing strategy but very bad in sticking to it. I was thinking that if I follow a marketing strategy within 7 to 10 days I will get success. If it would not work then I will change my strategy. But I was wrong. It didn’t worked that way. Then I thought why my marketing strategy is not working for me while same strategy is used by every successful business in the world.
Then I realized the number one mistake due to which I was not getting success as expected. It was not my marketing strategy, but my no commitment to stick to it for a long time.
You see, the main purpose of marketing is simple. It is to win the heart of your target customers so that they will spread the word of your business with everyone around and bring you more customers. Wining heart takes many months, not just in few days. No one will notice you or your business in few days. No one will notice what is your product or service in few days. Its because people don’t give importance to thing which they knew about recently, which they don’t feel any close feelings to. Only if they notice you everyday for a long time, then only they will really notice you, feel close to you and then trust you. Then only you will win their heart.
Not realizing this was my biggest marketing mistake. I thought I could use my marketing strategy and win my customers in few days. But I was wrong. Because it takes lots of time for customers to notice me, to trust me and finally becoming a raving fan of me spreading the words of my business like wild fire.
So no matter how smart & effective marketing strategy you create, if you don’t stick to it for a long time, you will not get result. You see, if you start using any marketing strategy and follow it for few days, your business will be get noticed by many people. But they will see you like stranger because they didn’t noticed you before. And as usual people don’t trust strangers that much easily. But if you stick to your marketing strategy and do marketing for many months. Then people will notice you every single day. You will no longer be stranger to them. Rather they will feel closer to you and your business.
They will see you like they have known you for many times as a successful brand. And finally they will feel easy to purchase any products from you without any hesitations. Not only this, they will also tell everyone around them about your business and bring you more customers for free for your life time. Is not it fantastic? Don’t you want this in your business?
If you want such business success, then you have to create your own marketing strategy and stick to it by following for many months. You have to do it every single day till you get success. You can take 1 to 2 holyday in a week. But rest days of the week be consistent in doing marketing.
Also do remember that marketing does not take that much time. It will only takes 30 min to 1 hour of your day. Some days it just takes 15 min. Yes only that and you can do it too.
Let me give you an example of how much time it will take you to do your marketing jobs. For target market research of your business, it can take just 1 hour. For finding platforms where your target market will be spending time, it will take another 2 to 3 hours. You can find your target market platform in facebook groups, Instagram profile, YouTube channel, twitter profile etc.
Choose any one platform initially. Don’t focus on marketing in all platform at once. Because if you do, you will be distracted and you can’t do any good quality work in any single platform either. So choose any one platform initially and stick it for many days. Then when you feel comfortable, then change to other platform. Also if you have lots of free time or many man power I am not stopping you from using multiple platforms at once. I generally choose facebook 1st. Sometimes I choose Instagram or YouTube as per my business, but most times I choose facebook 1st.
Then I join in various groups where I think my target market will be. It took maximum 1 hour to researching and finding good groups and joining them. Sometimes it takes more time when I try to market in many locations at once.
Then I optimize my facebook page, post my funnel and run facebook ads to get a 1st impressions from my target customers. In a new business, creating my 1st ad take 30 min max. After some practice, it take just 10 min of time.
Form next day I spend time in some facebook groups, posting good contents, engaging with other members. Meantime I try to make deals with facebook group admins. In the groups where promotional post are allowed I post my funnel or products every day. In other groups where it is not allowed I waited till the admin agree with my deal or if not, I say thanks and leave the groups. This way within few days I found which groups works best for me and I only post there.
Then everyday I post 5 to 6 of my content in facebook groups. It takes generally 20 to 30 min only. Every week I run 2 to 3 facebook ads. They also take 10 to 15 min each time only. So in sort everyday it only take 30 to 40 min of my time in marketing. But here I am always stick to my schedule. No matter what happen with me in a day, I must spend some times in marketing for my business. I never leave a day except some weekly holyday where I give myself some free time to think about my next ventures.
In those marketing time I never expected any big results as I know it will takes time for the customers to trust my new business. So I don’t panic if I don’t get results for many days. Because I know I will must get results after many weeks when customers feel immerse trust on me and my business. And it always happen.
When you will start marketing you will also see the same patterns. If you are not already a brand, then for many days you may see almost no results. But never lose your hope and don’t panic. Just know that your marketing is working and customers are seeing your. But they are taking some time to trust you.
It is like a relationship. The more they see you, the more they trust you. So keep your marketing work continue day after day. If you are using facebook platform, do that every day. If you are using Instagram platform, do that every day. If you are using YouTube marketing, do that everyday. Whatever you are doing, just do that everyday and be consistent. Sometimes it takes few weeks and sometimes few months. But be 100% sure that gradually you will win the trust of your customers. When it will happen they will reward you by purchasing all the products you are selling to them.
Trust me. That day will come if you be consistent in following your master marketing strategy.
