Ignoring social media marketing is like opening a business but not telling anyone.
In todays world everyone is online because of the social media. Social media company like facebook, Instagram, YouTube, twitter etc. has marketed their company in such a way that almost everyone is using them. Some people are on facebook, some are on Instagram, some are on YouTube and someone are in other blah blah platform. Everyone has mobile phones and they spend lots of their time in social media. And almost everyone is addicted to them.
This addiction may be bad for them, but for marketers like us it is a golden gem to get traffics. The purpose of a social media marketer is to bring the attention of the social media user to your website & sell products or get their data. Now I will tell you how to get traffics from Facebook.

Facebook Marketing:
Facebook is the biggest social media company in the world. People come to facebook to show of their life and see what others are doing in their life. They also join various community groups and like various pages. In average a facebook user spends 1-2 hours a day in facebook scrolling feeds.
There are 3 part of facebook marketing you need to know 1st before doing any marketing.
1) Your Facebook profile matters:
Your facebook profile show what type of person you are. All user in facebook love judgements and they can give an instant judge by your personal profile. They judge you as good person to do business or not.
Remember that if you want to make your business a big brand, you need to make your personal profile reflects this. For example, suppose you are a mobile store owner. And you want to show your customer that your store is a good brand, they sell good products, they give good customer service and as a owner you are a good person to do business with. But if your personal profile is full will negative post, troll post, gender discrimination post etc. then when a customer visits your profile, it will break his/her trust with you to do business.
Remember that a person buy product from you 1st and then from your store. If they like you, trust you; they will more likely buy from you than anyone else. So decide what impression you want to make yourself before a customer, then optimize your profile like this.
To optimize your personal facebook profile you should remove/hide unnecessary post, remove/hide unnecessary photos, organize your friends, do some privacy settings etc. Also you should use good profile image, cover image. Complete your personal about us section so that you can reflect a genuine person to do business with. You should post only good contents in your personal profile and stay away from any content which reduce your impressions in the eye of your target customers.
I myself did this. To make my personal profile professional, I have removed/hide all unnecessary post & images, organized my friends list. I also completed my about us section that it can reflect what a personal really I am. And I only post the content which I love to share with others.
And still if you don’t want to change anything in your personal profile due to any reason, it is your choice. In this case, I recommend to open different facebook account to do business with (but it is against the rule of facebook, a person can’t have 2 account, in later time one account will be disabled if found out by facebook team)
Do remember that your personal facebook profile is a very important part of your all facebook marketing. Although it is not used in bringing traffics (like you do not need to post any product in your facebook profile), but it will be useful in your business branding. It will help you in facebook group marketing (more info in next pages).
Also there are many customers who do check out your facebook personal profile before they decide to purchase anything from you. When they love your personal profile, they will trust your business more and it will help them spreading your business with their friends and relatives.
2) Traffic From Facebook Business Page:
You should have your own facebook business page for your business. It is very easy to create a business page in facebook. You will find many tutorials online, so I am not telling them here now. But I am telling you how to optimize it to do branding and get traffics.
Like your personal profile, where you can post anything related to life; in your facebook business page you should publish post related to your business only. 1st optimize your facebook profile by giving right logo and cover image. In canva you can create high quality facebook logo and facebook cover for free. Then optimize your page about us section, fill some details about your business, your business timing, your website details and your contact info. Treat your facebook page like your website. Only post high quality content like your funnel, an offer, your blog post, your product, new product etc. in your post.
Now invite some of your friends to like your facebook page. I guess you already have your facebook page and already did this. If not, do it.
Also remember that do not compare your facebook page likes with the traffics. I mean don’t think that if you increase your facebook page likes, you will get more traffics. There was a time when the more like you have, the more traffic you can get from facebook. But now facebook have changed their policy. So your number of facebook likes don’t matter that much. Only matter how much people really like you in general. There are facebook pages I own which have very few likes, but still I get thousands to traffics from that page. So don’t obsessed over getting likes to facebook business page.
But the one thing you can do with your facebook page for getting traffics is by using facebook advertising. When you put a post in your facebook page, you can boost it in facebook to get traffic to the post and from there to your website. Facebook have every data of your target customers. Facebook know your customer location, their purchasing habit, their likes, their dislikes. And when you do facebook advertising, facebook will reach your website to those target customers. So in facebook advertising, you can reach your target customers easily.
There are lots of free tutorials on how to do facebook advertisements in internet. Currently I am not discussing about how to do facebook advertisement here, because it will be too long. Later I will create a separate book/blog post regarding this. But right now I can give you some useful tips on facebook advertising .
When doing facebook advertising, focus on getting customers data 1st. So try to promote your funnel page than your home page. Don’t promote just your business like “hey, this is my business and I sell these products”, because no one cares what you sell. Promote your funnel page like “hey, use this coupon to get 70% discounts in real”, because people care about such post. So use facebook advertising to promote your funnel page, get traffic to your website, get customers data. And later use follows up techniques to increase your sales.
When you do advertising to get traffic, facebook will charge you 2-5 rupees or less or more (as per your audience) to give traffic to your website. If you optimize your funnel page to be very attractive you can capture 10-30% of customers’ data from your traffic.
Let me give you an example. Suppose you spend 2000 rupees on facebook advertising, you will get 10,000 to 20,000 facebook post impressions (it will help in branding), among which you will get 500 to 1000 traffics to your website, among which 100 to 300 will give you their data. If in your store average profile per customer in a year is 500, then from those 100 to 300 customers, you will earn 50,000 to 1,50,000 rupees in year. This is just an example; it may be less or high as per your business. So spend your money wisely in facebook advertisement as per your affordability.
Also remember that traffics you get from facebook advertising come under “Traffic You Can Control” Category. Here you can control the numbers of traffics ( = customer data, sales, money) to your website.
If you spend more money in advertising, optimize your advertisement post, optimize your funnel, then you will get lots of customers data. Then after following up you can sell lots of products easily. In sort, the more you spend on advertising, the more money you will earn.
Remember that getting traffic from facebook advertisement is not that much costly. It is very cheap compared to other advertisements. You can start by spending just 250 rupees and make more sales in your store. That’s what this is one of my favorite method to get traffic to my business. If you use this method, you can to get traffics ( = money) to your business instantly.
3) Traffic From Facebook Groups:
You don’t need to create your own facebook group to do marketing. You can if it is required for your business, but if you are starting out in facebook marketing, I recommend to not do it. Because handling a facebook group is a tough task. You need to approve post by removing spam, approve users, organize your group etc. which will consume lots of your times. So unless you have extra employee or extra time to handle your facebook group, I recommend to not create a one right now (just for now, later you can do it if you have proper time, man power and proper knowledge).
Here I will tell you how to leverage other groups to get traffic to your business. If you have completed your task regarding finding the platform where your target customers are spending their time, you will find most are also member of various facebook groups.
Facebook group is a community where lots of similar minded people come to share their ideas. There are facebook group related to entertainment, where people join to get entertainment post or they themselves post entertainment related topic. Also there are facebook groups related to politics, local news, local topics. Also some groups related to buy sell of local items. So in sort, there are lots of groups where your target customers have jointed. You need to find that group and join there.
Remember that you should join those groups with your personal profile having your own image, not by another facebook profile which have other image and absolutely not as facebook page. Its because your own face will create more trust than anything else. So find those groups and join them.
I will now teach you how to evaluate a good group and how to post there to get maximum traffic possible. In facebook you will find many groups, but choose those groups which have some engagements like people are liking post, commenting post. A group having active admin and strong rules is the ideal choice. Because those admins constantly monitor their group to remove bad post and make it user friendly for other group members. So 1st find out good groups. Then think in which groups your target customers will be. If you have already some customers, you can ask them. Or use my formula to find out. It is 1st guessing, then testing and then finalizing.
Suppose you own a cloth store for men and women. Then your target customers are most probably in their young age (18 to 35 or other as per your business). Then they would be probably in various entertainment related groups (as young people seeks entertainments most). So join such groups. But do not post anything yet. In a very good entertainment groups, admins generally put restrictions on business promotion. So 1st read their rules. Be active on those groups for some days, liking & commenting some post. If admin post some contents, like & comment there too. If possible, send friend request to the admin (optional). Then after few days contact the admin for a marketing deal. You will make a deal to pay him something per month or a year and he/she will allow you to post your funnel page 2-3 times a week or less. Remember that a group admin values their user experience most. So do not post product page in those groups as group members will not like it & if they don’t like it, admin can break the deal. So try to create a funnel which do not sell, but give an irresistible offer to people. Post such content in those groups.
I hope you understand what I am trying to say here. Remember that in different groups you need to use different strategy. In entertainment groups, there are lots of engagements, so you have to follow many rules on what type of content you post. There are many buy sell groups; where you may not need to follow such rules. In those buy sell groups you can post your website or your products anytime. But as a general rule a funnel convert more than any other post.
Also while striking deal be caution about what they charge. It differed form city to city. If you are a local store with a specific geographical location and you do not want to sell products to other area (you can if you have website), you should join local groups. In a local group of small city having members 50,000 or more generally charge 1000 rupees per year. In big city they may charge more or in some city they may charge less. Also in general group like entertainment they may charge different like per post or per month. But try to strike deal in per year basis. It will be cheap and you will more connected with the members of the groups, getting more trust. There also some buy sell group which do not charge, you can promote there too without any issue.
So in sort, you join good groups having your target market, promote your funnel and website in those groups. Your main priority in promotion is to get traffic to your funnel or website. Do not expect that in your 1st attempt you will get sales. Generally, it doesn’t happen this way. You need to be consistent in your posting if you want to get results.
After doing facebook group marketing of some days, you will find out in which group most of your target customers are. Then focus on those groups only and giving priority to promoting there. If a group allow daily posting, post there everyday. If a group allow weekly 1-2 times promotional post, do that. This way be consistent in your group marketing. But do not post more than 5-6 same post in a day, because this way facebook will penalize you for spamming. So do normal amount group posting only.
After a month of such group marketing, you will see the real results. Remember that most probably you will not find more customers in 1st week of you group marketing. Its because most people don’t know you. So it will take times for them to trusting you and trusting your brand. So do not stop, if you don’t get your expected results. Be consistent in group marketing and do it everyday. Facebook group marketing takes time, but it gives huge results. After 1 month’s group marketing, you can see yours traffics growing. You will see your customers list increasing, getting online orders and new customers to your store. Gradually such marketing will make your business a brand in the eye of customers.
Here I am not showing you what approximate income you will earn from this group marketing. Because different city will have different results. In a small city, you can get 100 to 200 traffic to your website per day with your effort while in a big city you can get 500-1000 new traffic per day. Also your income depends upon your per customer average profile. So if 30 people buy from you and you got 300 average profit per customer, you could earn 9000 rupees in a day. Similarly, if you get more customers and get more profit per customers (different business has different numbers), you could earn more.
Personally I do not focus on selling/earning while doing facebook group marketing. I focus on how much new customers I get to my customers list. So while promoting I focus on giving as much free information or discounted products as I can and try to get as much customers data as I can. Because I know that later times I can follow up with my customers, know what they need properly and sell more products for life times. You should do the same. Focus on building your customers list 1st. By following this group marketing technique, you could get 100 to 500 new customers data everyday and in later time you can sell products by following up with them.
Later when you have large number of customer base, you can create your own facebook group and tell your customers to join your groups. And you can engage your customers there too. But its marketing technique is quite different and so I will show that in in another guide/blog post.
Remember that getting traffics from facebook group come under “Traffic You can’t Control” category. Because here you can’t predict how much traffics you can get in a day. But here you always get traffics. Also it increase your trust among your target market. Because when you post something in facebook groups, most people also check your personal profile too. And if you have optimized your personal profile well, then your target customers will impress by you and see you as a trustworthy person to do business ( = purchase products from you).
If you want to get traffics to your website/business, I recommend you to use facebook advertising and group marketing everyday. Not only you will get more customers data ( = more sales in future) every day but also it will help you in branding your business.
